Vicki Harkovitch

I am recovering from breast cancer, diagnosed last Feb. 14. I have always wanted to try yoga and this has spurred me to do it. I wanted to re-establish a positive relationship with my body.

I discovered Verna's classes at the Downtown Athletic Center. Through her gentle guidance, I feel that I truly am becoming friends with my body in a way that I've never been able to be before. She challenges us, but, at the same time, urges us to "accept what is given" on any particular day. Attitude is everything--actual achievement will come as it will.

If you are interested in experiencing your body, mind and spirit's full potential and the satisfaction of recognizing how each informs the other, take yoga.
